Mr. Brown

Bobby Brown used to be the bizness! I remember growing up dancing around the house thinking I was Bobby Brown (female version). I'm having a Bobby moment now...

You are appreciated...

"Why am I fighting to live,
If I am just living to fight
Why am I trying to see.
When there ain't nothing in sight
Why am I trying to give,
When no one gives me a try
Why am I dying to live,
If I am just living to die?"
Tupac Shakur

Was having a Tupac moment...

Taking It Back

90’s Throwback Tune:

R.Kelly has too many tunes to choose from but this song has been in my head this week. So since today is Friday…yeah, you guessed it:

Sounds from the 80's

This week’s 80’s tune is by Tina Turner, boy did I love her music when I was growing up. Here’s her performance of one of my favourite tunes Private Dancer; love the electric guitar on the song.

(Have you seen this woman’s legs btw? Go Tina!)

My skin is...

I just had to post up this cover of Nina Simone's 'Four Women' song by none other than the lovely Kelly Price, Marsha Ambrosius, Jill Scott & Ledisi. What I loved the most about this performance is that neither of them tried to outshine the other with the singing, they were just humble and delivered a great piece...

Amazing! Marsha can sang...and I'm loving the hair - team afro!

Other than the likes of Marsha, right now all i've been listening to are tunes from back, back, back in the day...loooooving the old tunes; music then was sang from the heart.

I love me some Aretha:)

I still bump this

It was Janet Jackson's 44th bday on Sunday so I feel to give her a tribute and post all my fav vids but I can't lie...that's long! Coz seriously, she has too many hits. So I'm going to just post up one; I chose this one because I still bump this tune like it just got released yesterday. Love the vid too; she may have lost it a bit now but Janet will forever be my favourite female dancer:) I love this song and video loads! Enjoy...

Missing those Missy beats…

Yesterday, me and my friend were reminiscing on the old Missy Elliott songs from her Supa Dupa Fly and Da Real World albums. There was an era where I was feeling every Missy and Timbaland produced song. They were the business! Missy Elliott’s latest materials haven’t been doing it for me at all, but on the flipside I must admit Timbaland has been doing a lot. Anyways, below are a few videos that take me back to my street dance days…good times.

Hit Em Wit Da Hee

All ‘N My Grill

The Rain

Beep Me 911

She’s a Bitch

Sock It 2 Me (Supa Dupa Fly)

Hot Boyz

Aaliyah: One in a Million

Ginuwine: What’s So Different?

A bit off, but remember when Hype Williams’ videos were the ish! I might have to do a blog post on him soon…
