Monday Movers

Since I love dancing so much, I thought I’d dedicate a post to it so enjoy!

Cultural Dance

Shisha won the Dancehall Queen title back in 2007 -she’s ‘ard!

As much as I love dancehall moves, I love dance moves from the motherland…

African dance group: Mambo

Nigerian street dance group- x-fellaz

(Does anyone know the name of that Nigerian tune they dance to at 1.03; let me know coz that tune is ‘ard!)

Back then…

...I thought Ginuwine and Mya were good dancers. Here’s Ginuwine in his hey dayz…

Mya is going to be on the new series of Dancing with the Stars despite having the advantage of being a trained dancer. She has to merk it, I’ll definitely be tuning into that. Here’s Mya having a dance rehearsal…

…and her showing off some tap dancing moves. I wanna learn how to tap dance!

Nu’ Skool Movers

And we all know that Beyonce can dance, I love the body popping dancing she does in the Sweet Dreams video. Here’s a vid of her dancers- they good!

I posted a vid of Beyonce doing the matrix, well here’s Ciara showing us how it’s done. She makes it look so easy but it really isn’t! (Her shoes are emosh!)

I can’t wait for Ciara’s video to ‘Like a Surgeon’, I know she’s going to merk the dancing.

I saw a vid of Teyana Taylor free styling ages ago and she was so sick, but I can’t seem to find that vid anywhere :-( I really wanted to post it up but here’s a substitute for the meantime … (Love this girl's hair!)

Ol’Skool Movers

I absolutely love James Brown’s dancing style; his foot work is emosh!

Pure Humour

I still can’t get enough of this video!

Victoria Beckham wins for the most funkiest shoes with her Antonio Berardi ‘heel-less’ shoes. These look hard…to walk in! I think I’d give ‘em a miss but she made it look easy.

Don't Dwell On It

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know I’m short! I find it annoyingly funny when people feel the need to tell me that I’m small like I don’t already know! At a petite 5'2", am I bothered that my height falls below average? No. Well...not anymore. I mean, you soon get used to the fact that your chances of being a catwalk model are pretty much anorexic - yes pun intended!
I did used to really hate the you’re so cute talk- what’s that supposed to mean? I’m 22 not 12! But then that all changed when guys showed me interest because I was cute. That was just what I needed to help me finally suppress my insecurity with my height. But unfortunately, once a particular insecurity disappears, you soon find that another one readily takes its place.
Can we ever fully combat our insecurities for good?

I honestly don’t think we can, especially in this narrow-minded world we live in that gets pleasure in feeding our insecurities. So what do we do? Well, what most people do is point out other people’s flaws to make them feel better about theirs; I think we are all guilty of this.

Though it’s easier to point a finger at other people’s faults, it’s certainly not the best method because provoking other people’s insecurities doesn’t make yours disappear. Instead I think we should actually listen to all the cliché talk about self-love.

If you don’t love yourself how can you honestly expect someone else to love you? And if you don’t know how to love yourself, how can you love someone else?

It’s something we’ve heard a thousand times before, yet we still manage to underestimate the power of self-love. Once you start loving yourself, you really do gain a whole new appreciation for ‘insecurities’ as weird as that might sound. It’s very normal to feel insecure about something whether it is a physical feature or an emotional thing. No one ever reaches complete satisfaction with their self; your glass is either half full or half empty right? Even the Halle Berries of this world have a baggage of insecurities somewhere. The only difference is some people carry it around with them wherever they go whilst others choose to leave that extra baggage at home. I’ve decided to lock away my baggage; just knowing it’s there is good enough for me! I understand that insecurities are not there to weigh you down; they are there to keep you humble. Since humbleness is an essential trait to have, I guess insecurities aren’t so bad after all…just don’t let them outweigh your securities.

So whatever you’re insecure about, don’t dwell on it.
As for your securities, don’t let your ego swell on it!

(hehe, can someone say chesse lol)
